2014
has arrived, the sap will soon be rising and will start forming new
timber growth….. an extra ring to mark the eventful and traumatic year
of 2013 !
And so the cycle carries on to form new wood for the coming generation. New wood for our sons and daughters in their Dublin Homes, One wonders who will be the craftspeople to fashion our future timber into fine furniture…Think about it! Will they have PHDs in tongues and grooves, dovetail joints and such ?
That is why it is so important that these skills and crafts be carried on to future generations. It is hard to believe it but many of the gifted hands of the future are in our cradles and crèches as they get used to our world of shapes, sizes and colours. And of course many have yet to be born. My only wish is that they grow up in a great new world of sustainable forests full of fine timbers for our future use.
You know that as these trees grow they are cleaning and giving Life to the very air we breathe. It is also only fair to mention the fine job these forests and trees are doing in providing a home for all those critters both little and large who share God’s good earth with us.
With Spring in the air comes a new beginning around your Dublin home, and you might have determined that the kitchen needs some attention. Old, worn-out or out-of-style cabinets cause the kitchen look dreary, but that can be changed with a new set of kitchen cabinets made here in Dublin. The type of wood used will bear a sizeable effect on the look of your kitchen, and so it pays to understand about the most fashionable woods used by Dublin custom cabinetmakers. They include oak, pine, cherry and maple to name but a few.
Kitchen furniture is also an important component of comfort. Not only the looks of the kitchen cabinets but the material they are made of are of great significance

A Word About Woods
Oak
Oak wood naturally offers a light lustre, and comes in colours ranging from white to red tones. Oak wood often has knots and ripples, streaks and lines that occur in the lumber, making it highly sought after by Dublin custom cabinet makers for the distinctive decorative look it gives to kitchen cabinetry.
Pine
Pine is widely held softwood often used in the construction of kitchen cabinets in Dublin. It mellows well in it's natural state and finishes to a fine lustre. It also stains and it polishes well So that there are many options for customizing your pine cabinets.
Cherry
Cherry wood is an excellent choice for when you want a high-end look in your new kitchen. Colours of cherry wood range from reds to browns, and come with highly visible, straight graining. Cherry offers a tremendous choice for the homeowner who wants to create a warm, inviting feel to the look of the kitchen.
Maple
Natural maple wood ranges in colour from soft yellow to deep brown shades. Dublin custom cabinetmakers like to use maple wood when a distinctive graining pattern is sought for the cabinetry. Because it is a versatile wood that offers a wide range of looks, maple wood is appropriate for use in cabinetry in a variety of interior design styles ranging from traditional to more modern.
